Who is McGrath Group
We are one of Ireland’s leading privately owned property developers, investors, and construction companies. Founded in the early 1980s, we have over 40 years of experience delivering high-quality residential and commercial developments across Ireland, the UK, and Europe.
How long has McGrath Group been in business?
McGrath Group was founded in the early 1980s and has been delivering properties for over 40 years. In the last three years alone, we delivered more than 1,000 new homes. Our award-winning track record dates back to the 1990s, with recognition from the Irish Building and Design Awards, the Irish Construction Excellence Awards, and the Irish Planning Institute.
Who runs McGrath Group?
McGrath Group is led by three siblings. PJ McGrath is the Founder and Chairman, who established the company in the early 1980s. Mary McGrath is the CEO, leading the strategic direction of the business and representing the company at industry level. Tom McGrath is the Director responsible for construction and building operations. Together, they bring decades of combined expertise across development, investment, and delivery.

We deliver developments across Ireland, the United Kingdom, and Europe. Our Irish projects are spread across the entire country including Dublin and surrounding counties such as Kildare. In the UK we are active in London, Reading, Brighton, and Bristol, as well as completed European work in Germany and Hungary.

Sustainability & Quality
Are McGrath Group homes energy efficient?
Yes. All new homes built by us are constructed to NZEB (Nearly Zero-Energy Building) standard and achieve a BER (Building Energy Rating) of A2 or A3 — the highest energy efficiency ratings in Ireland. Homes feature high-efficiency air source heat pump systems, and all developments include electric vehicle charging points in at least 5% of public parking spaces.
Is McGrath Group a sustainable developer?
Sustainability is a core value at McGrath Group. Our developments meet the highest energy efficiency standards, including NZEB compliance and A-rated BER certification. We also deliver community assets — such as public parks and sports pitches — as part of our developments, and incorporate affordable housing and EV charging infrastructure as standard commitments across new projects.
